Americo Caggiano was in the United States Army Infantry during World War II.  After receiving training in the United States, he spent much of his time in the Pacific Theater of War.  After the war was over, Caggiano returned to his hometown of Brooklyn, New York and married his girlfriend whom he met while visiting Allentown.  The couple moved to Lehigh County and raised three children.  The following selections are from an oral history of Lehigh County World War II veterans.  Each selection begins with the place that Caggiano was at from the time he left home to join the service until the time he returned home.
